Norfolk, Va. (October 5, 2022) – Arrrr, ye mateys, join Virginia Opera as they present the inaugural
Spirits at the Opera, Thursday, Oct. 20 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Harrison Opera House Grand Lobby,
160 W. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk. Tickets available for $40 each will include an evening of music
and performances from Virginia Opera singers, food, and craft cocktail tastings from our local

Building on the success of Virginia Opera’s annual winter regional brewery event, Tap into Opera,
their newest offering, Spirits at the Opera with its pirate theme celebrates the 2022-2023 season and
the second of the four Virginia Opera shows, Gilbert & Sullivan’s operetta, “Pirates of Penzance”
which runs from Nov. 4 – 6. Like its winter event partner, Spirits at the Opera benefits the Opera’s
educational outreach programming.
“We look forward to this new event which is two-pronged, said Virginia Opera board member and the
event’s chair, Richard Pulley. We welcome our regional distilleries and event patrons and celebrate
the upcoming “Pirates of Penzance. We can’t wait, me hearties!”
