Norfolk, VA – Nederlander National Markets and SevenVenues are delighted to announce the lineup for the 2022-2023 Broadway in Norfolk season, including a return to week-long performance schedules. The five-show season kicks off in November with Norfolk’s premiere of Grammy and six-time Tony Award winning musical DEAR EVAN HANSEN. A deeply personal and profoundly contemporary musical about life and the way we live it, DEAR EVAN HANSEN has struck a chord with audiences and critics everywhere. The season continues in the new year with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s record-breaking musical spectacular CATS. COME FROM AWAY, a production that takes you into the heart of the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them, makes its Norfolk debut in February. The return engagement of Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning HAMILTON - a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education - follows with a two-week run of sixteen performances in March. The season closes with a new and mesmerizing production of the iconic musical phenomenon JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. Celebrating its 50th anniversary, this production pays tribute to the historic 1971 Billboard Album of the Year while creating a modern, theatrical world that is uniquely fresh and inspiring.
Broadway in Norfolk 2022-2023 season subscribers will also have the opportunity to add WICKED tickets to their package this year. WICKED is scheduled to play sixteen performances from September 14-25, 2022.
